THis note from Kar-Ming Lo, husband, father, and doctor. Kar-Ming is an Ohio-based athlete who has been practicing M2 workouts since December. Though he trains less than his peers, Kar-Ming seems to be doing just fine. Michael, It is only 2/3 of the way through the training for IMWI but your training program has erased any nagging doubts (as must be inevitable before a race to document efficacy of a program). I was able to improve on my personal best 33 minutes in the 1/2 IM distance race from 5h59m to 5h26m (with a 9m 40s combined T1 & T2) on similar flat courses. The Sylvanina 1/2 IM had winds that enabled me to ride 23-24 mph with the wind and then only 18 mph against the wind. This enabled me to improve on my bike a solid 7 minutes despite drastically stronger wind conditions. I thought that I felt tired at the end of the ride going against the wind but what was most amazing was the strength that I had on the run. Typically this is a death march for me that often results in a run pace of 10:30/mi. This time I was able to run an 8:41/mi pace despite a near bonk at mile 3 that took me a mile and a half to get over. Considering that I ran an 8:01/mi in a half-marathon race in March, this is pretty cool. It's great to see that despite working about 80 hours a week (for 3 out of every 5 wks) and working out the same amount of hours as last year, that I can have such a dramatic improvement. I had wondered previously re: all your testimonials of people who were able to go from good to fantastic results. I am quite happy that it works equally well for us average age-groupers. I look forward to the next 14 weeks training for IMWI. Kar-Ming
